Here are the results:
The Georgetown University men's golf team shot a 25-over par 313 and finished 13th at the NCAA South Central Regional, held at the Traditions Golf Course on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.
No. 10 Texas Tech, in fourth after the first round and second after the second round, shot a 3-under par 285 in the final round of play and topped the 14-team field with a 13-under par 851, one stroke ahead of host Texas A&M, the No. 1 seed and the third-ranked team in the country, who finished second at 12-under par 852. TCU finished third at 6-under par 858, with North Florida fourth at 5-under par 859 and Georgia and Baylor tying for fifth place at 5-over par 869.
The Hoyas had entered the final round in the second-to-last pairings group of the day, with Georgia and Rice and held a 10-stroke lead over North Carolina for 12th place, but finished in 13th place at 15-over par 915. North Carolina finished in 12th place at 46-over par 910.
Junior Brandon Ellis (Westerville, Ohio/St. Francis de Sales) shot a 4-over par 76 in the final round and finished in a tie for 54th place at 13-over par 229.
Sophomores Taylor Hall (Roswell, Ga./Blessed Trinity) and Brian Dorfman (Greenwood Village, Colo./Cherry Creek), Georgetown's top finishers through two rounds, posted scores of 8-over par 80 and 11-over par 83, respectively, in the final round. Hall finished in a tie for 57th place at 14-over par 230 and Dorfman tied for 62nd place at 17-over par 233.
Senior Vincenzo Salina (Vandoeuvres, Switzerland/Institut Florimont), the BIG EAST Individual Champion, finished in 64th place at 18-over par 234 and junior Danny Hathway (Rockville, Md./Georgetown Prep) tied for 65th place at 19-over par 235, including a team-best 3-over par 75 in the final round.
The top five teams from six different regionals, as well as the top five individuals not among the top five teams, will advance to the NCAA Division I Championship, being held at The Honors Course in Chattanooga, Tenn.
The Hoyas earned the NCAA Tournament bid after winning the BIG EAST Tournament Championship. Under the direction of BIG EAST Coach of the Year Tommy Hunter, who is completing his 25th year at the helm of the program, Georgetown is making its fourth appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Georgetown also competed in the NCAAs in 1997 and 1998.
