WASHINGTON - Georgetown University Head Volleyball Coach Arlisa Williams has announced the addition of Andrew Halaz as an assistant coach. Halaz joins the Hoyas' coaching staff after serving as the Director of Volleyball Operations at Saint Louis University during the 2009 season.
At Georgetown, Halaz will assist in all facets of on-court training and recruiting. Halaz will also coordinate team travel and team equipment.
"Andy's Jesuit background, passion for volleyball and experience in winning programs make him a perfect fit for Georgetown volleyball," Williams said. "We are extremely excited about what he brings to the program."
As Director of Volleyball Operations, Halaz was in charge of breaking down game film and managing scouting reports for the Co-Atlantic 10 Champion Billikens, an NCAA Tournament participant in 2009. Prior to his role as Director of Volleyball Operations, Halaz was a practice player at Saint Louis, while also coaching at St. Louis High Performance.
As an undergraduate at Rockhurst University, Halaz served as a student assistant where he assisted in scouting opponents, helped initiate practice plans and provided game strategy and technical instruction for the two-time NCAA Division II Tournament participant.
The St. Louis, Mo., native earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Theology at Rockhurst University in 2008 before going on to receive his Masters in Theology from Saint Louis University in 2010.
