WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's rowing team has welcomed 14 new team members to campus this past weekend. Thirteen of the new Hoyas are members of the class of 2014:
Haley Allen comes to the Hilltop from Bainbridge Island, Washington, where she rowed for Bainbridge Island Rowing Club. Haley finished third in the varsity double at the 2010 USRowing Northwest Regional Championships.
Tegan Campia is from Lake Forest, Illinois, and attended the Kent School in Connecticut. Campia finished second at the 2010 New England Interscholastic Rowing Association Championships as a member of Kent's first varsity eight.
Emma Cicotti hails from Haverford, Pennsylvania, and attended Episcopal Academy. Emma was a Scholastic National champion in Episcopal's varsity quad in 2009 and 2010. Ally Flinn comes to Georgetown from Vandalia, Ohio, and rowed for Dayton Boat Club. Flinn was a grand finalist at the USRowing Youth National Championships in the varsity four event in 2009 and 2010.
Rachel Gary joins the team from Seattle, Washington, where she rowed for Greenlake Crew. Gary's varsity eight finished seventh at the USRowing Youth National Championships in 2010.
Bridget Gribbin comes to the Hilltop from Merion Station, Pennsylvania. Gribbin attended Episcopal Academy and, like Cicotti, was a part of Episcopal's undefeated varsity quad in 2009 and 2010.
Marianne Hoeft is from New Canaan, Connecticut, and rowed for New Canaan Crew. Hoeft won a bronze medal at the 2010 USRowing National Championships in the varsity quad, and a silver medal at the 2010 FISA Junior World Championships as a member of the U.S. Junior National Team women's eight.
Chelsea Maisano hails from Lakeview, New York, and rowed for Nardin Academy and West Side Rowing Club. Maisano finished second in the lightweight eight at the 2010 New York State Scholastic Championships.
Carly McCaffrey joins the Hoyas from El Granada, California. A graduate of Saint Ignatius College Prep, her varsity eight finished fourth at the USRowing Southwest Regional Championships in 2010.
Claire Murphy, from Everett, Washington, attended the Lakeside School. Murphy finished fourth in Lakeside's pair at the 2010 USRowing Youth National Championships.
Devon O'Brien is the team from Seaville, New Jersey, coxed for Ocean City High School. O'Brien's varsity eight finished tenth at the 2010 Scholastic Rowing Association National Championships.
Clare Southern joins the team from Los Gatos, California, where she rowed for Los Gatos Rowing Club. Southern won a silver medal in the lightweight eight at the 2010 USRowing Youth National Championships.
Kathleen Taylor is from Weston, Connecticut, and rowed for Saugatuck Rowing Club. Taylor finished fourth in the quad at the 2010 USRowing Youth National Championships.
Joining the new freshmen is junior transfer student Victoria Stutz, from Trumbull Connecticut. Stutz comes to the Hilltop from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where she finished 10th in the varsity eight at the 2010 New England Rowing Championships.
