WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's women's openweight rowing team traveled to the Naval Academy on Saturday, April 18, for a competitive slate of dual racing on the Severn River. Facing challenging conditions with an outgoing tide and cross-headwinds gusting up to 25 mph, the Hoyas tested their speed against the Midshipmen across five events.
The day was highlighted by a definitive victory from the Varsity Four, who handled the gusting winds to cross the finish line in 7:47.09, defeating Navy by over eight seconds. The lower boats also saw tight finishes, with the Second Varsity Eight and the Third Varsity Eight both narrowing the gap on the Mids, finishing within four seconds of their Navy counterparts in hard-fought battles.
