Hoyas Release 2010-11 Television Schedule

WASHINGTON - The BIG EAST Conference released its 2010-11 women's basketball television schedule on Thursday with the Georgetown University Hoyas having six appearances on television. The Hoyas will appear on four difference networks and have two appearances from McDonough Arena. Six is the most televised games the Blue & Gray has had in program history.

Highlighting the list is an appearance on ESPN2 on February 13 at 2:30 p.m., as the Hoyas travel to St. John's. The game will be a part of ESPN's February Frenzy which features five BIG EAST teams on ESPN2.

The Blue & Gray will appear on ESPNU on February 20 at 5:30 p.m., in a matchup at DePaul marking the second of GU's two appearances on an ESPN affiliate.

CBS College Sports will continue to host a "Game of the Week" with Georgetown scheduled to appear in three contests. The Hoyas will travel to South Bend, Ind., on January 18 to take on the Fighting Irish. They will then host West Virginia University, a team they tied with for second place last season in the conference standings, on January 25 at McDonough Arena. Georgetown will also host the University of South Florida Bulls on February 8 at McDonough Arena.

The Blue & Gray will make one appearance on the BIG EAST Network Syndicated Game of the Week schedule. The Hoyas will play at Providence College on January 15 at 4 p.m.

Coming off a season which saw a league-record 13 teams advance to postseason play for a second-straight year, the BIG EAST's 2010-11 women's basketball television schedule features all 16 teams for the fifth-consecutive year and continues to be one of the top television slates in the nation. The league's overall exposure includes one game on CBS Sports, 14 appearances on ESPN/ESPN2, 27 on ESPNU and 25 on CBS College Sports Network.

The Conference will have a presence on CBS Sports for the 16th straight year. Notre Dame will host Connecticut on January 8 at 2 p.m., in what is primed to be a top-25 matchup.

The BIG EAST's 14 appearances on ESPN/ESPN2 include three conference games. All of the games also will be simulcast on ESPN3.com. The title game of the 2010 BIG EAST Women's Championship Presented by American Eagle Outfitters on March 8 will again be the only women's basketball conference final in the nation aired on ESPN. The BIG EAST is one of two conferences to be featured on the channel this season.

The Hoyas will start the season with the annual Midnight Madness celebration on October 15.
