Georgetown Men's Basketball Announces Television Schedule

The Georgetown University men's basketball team will appear on television 28 times during the 2011-12 season, with at least 17 games appearing on the ESPN Networks, 10 games being shown on the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN) and one game airing on CBS.

The 2011-12 schedule features 16 games with opponents who appeared in the postseason last year and a trip to play in the Maui Classic. Other highlights include BIG EAST Conference games at home against Marquette, Connecticut, St. John's, Villanova and Notre Dame.

Georgetown will make one appearance on CBS, hosting Villanova at Verizon Center on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 2 p.m.

The Hoyas will also make at least 17 appearances on the ESPN Networks, starting with the season opener on Saturday, Nov. 12 against Savannah State will air on ESPN360 at noon.

The team's first game in Hawaii for the Maui Classic, on Monday, Nov. 21 against Kansas at 11:50 p.m. (ET). The team will play two more games in the Maui Classic, on Nov. 22 and Nov. 23, respectively. All games in the Maui Classic will air on either ESPN or ESPN2.

Georgetown's visit to Alabama on Thursday, Dec. 1 as part of the BIG EAST/SEC Challenge will air on ESPN2 at 9:30 p.m. (ET).

The Hoyas final non-league game of the season, on Thursday, Dec. 22 against Memphis, will air on ESPN2 at 7 p.m. That is the first of three-straight games that will appear on ESPN2. Georgetown's BIG EAST opener on Wednesday, Dec. 28 at Louisville (7 p.m.) will air on ESPN2 and the team will host Providence at Verizon Center on Saturday, Dec. 31 (2 pm.).

In January, Georgetown's games at Verizon against Marquette on Wednesday, Jan. 4 (7 p.m.) and on Monday, Jan. 9 against Cincinnati will both air on ESPNU, while the Hoyas road game at DePaul on Tuesday, Jan.17 (7 p.m.) will be shown on ESPN2. The Blue & Gray will travel to Pittsburgh on Saturday, Feb. 28 (4 p.m.) for a game against the Panthers that will air on ESPN or ESPN2.

Five of the team's eight games in February will air on the ESPN Networks. On Wednesday, Feb. 1 (7 p.m.), the Hoyas will host Connecticut on ESPN2 and a game against South Florida on Saturday, Feb. 4 (11 a.m.) will air on ESPNU. When the team travels to Syracuse for a game on Wednesday, Feb. 8 (7 p.m.), that game will air on ESPN or ESPN2.

Georgetown will have two ESPN games at Verizon Center, first when the team hosts St. John's on Sunday, Feb. 12 (1 p.m.) and then against Notre Dame on Monday, Feb. 27 (7 p.m.).

The team's schedule also includes 10 appearances on MASN, starting with the team's second home game, on Monday, Nov. 14 against UNC Greensboro. Following the trip to Hawaii, the team will host IUPUI at Verizon Center on Monday, Nov. 28 (7 p.m.). in a game that will appear on MASN as well.

Other MASN games include non-league games against Howard on Saturday, Dec. 10 (noon) and against American on Saturday, Dec. 17 (noon).

BIG EAST Conference games appearing on MASN include a game at West Virginia on Saturday, Jan. 7 (noon), at St. John's on Sunday, Jan. 15 (noon) and at home against Rutgers on Saturday, Jan. 21. GU's game at Providence on Saturday, Feb. 18 will air on MASN at 7 p.m.) and the team's game at Seton Hall on Tuesday, Jan. 21 will air at 7 p.m. The Hoyas close out the 2011-12 season with a game at Marquette on Saturday, March 3 that will air on MASN at 2 p.m.
