WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's tennis team lost a tough one to the Loyola Marymount University Lions on Wednesday in the second of a two-match road trip to the West Coast. The Hoyas had some bright spots, but weren't able to come up with the victory to fall to 3-6 on the year.

Graduate student Stephanie Wetmore (Mississauga, Ontario/Appleby College) and partner freshman Tina Tehrani (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) were the lone winners in doubles play. The pair won 8-5 in the No. 1 position to both move to 3-0 on the road trip before falling in singles play.

No. 2 singles player junior Lauren Greco (Oakmont, Pa./Shady Side Academy) put the Hoyas on the board with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Melissa Valenzuela.

Georgetown's second point came from sophomore Vicky Sekely (Mississaga, Ontario/Lorne Park Secondary School) at No. 3 who battled for the three-set victory. Sekely downed Miya Jin, 6-3, in the first set but fell, 6-2, in the second. She came back to pick up the, 6-2, win in the third making the final, 5-2.

The Hoyas will be back on the East Coast, but continue their road swing with a match at the University of Maryland on Thursday at 3 p.m.
