4 Hoyas Named to US Sailing Development Team

US Sailing named its Development Team on Monday and the list included current Hoyas Chris Barnard, Sydney Bolger, and Nancy Hagood, as well as 2011 graduate Charlie Buckingham. US Sailing selects this team as the youth pipeline for sailors expected to compete for Olympic berths in the coming years. Barnard and Buckingham were selected in the Laser Class, currently used as the Men's Singlehanded Dinghy in the Olympic Games, while Bolger and Hagood were named in the 470 class, currently used as the Women's Doublehanded Dinghy. Many Hoyas have been a part of this team in the past and this group continues the presence of Georgetown sailors competing at the highest levels of the sport. This is an incredible honor for these sailors and provides them with significant opportunities to improve in international competition over the next 12 months.
