WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's golf team shot a 23-over par 307 in the second round and is seventh place among 16 teams after the first day of play at the University of Miami Hurricane Invitational. The two-day tournament is being held at the Deering Bay Yacht & Country Club in Coral Gables, Fla. and concludes on Tuesday, March 6.
Host Miami leads the field of 16 teams at 29-over par 597, eight strokes ahead of Ohio State (37-over par 605). Kennesaw State is in third place (41-over par 609), followed by Georgia State (42-over par 610) and Campbell in fifth place (51-over par 619).
Georgetown is in seventh place at 56-over par 624, four strokes behind sixth place Michigan (52-over par 620) and two shots ahead of eighth place Oral Roberts (58-over par 626).
Sophomore Alice Choi (Whitestone, N.Y./Bayside) led the Hoyas and is tied for eighth place overall in the field of 85 golfers at 8-over par 150. She posted scores of 5-over par 76 and 3-over par 74, respectively.
Seniors Eunae Jo (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) and Joan Dulieu (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Detroit Country Day) are tied for 48th place at 18-over par 160. Jo posted scores of 10-over par 81 in the first round and 8-over par 79 in the second round, while Dulieu was 6-over par 77 and 12-over par 83, respectively.
Junior Katie Skinner (Boise, Idaho/Bishop Kelly) is tied for 51st place at 19-over par 161, including a 4-over par 75 in the second round, and junior Audrey Dalton (Portland, Ore./St. Mary) is tied for 55th place at 20-over par 161.
