WASHINGTON - Georgetown University junior forward Steve Neumann(New Hope, Pa./Council Rock North) was one of 42 student-athletes named to the 2012 Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Trophy Watch List on Monday. Neumann has already been selected as a unanimous decision on the 2012 Preseason All-BIG EAST Team.

Neumann was the 2011 Georgetown team MVP. He was named First Team All-Northeast Region from the NSCAA and First Team All-BIG EAST. The midfielder ranked first on the team in points scored with 29 tallied on 11 goals and seven assists. Neumann started in all 19 games for the Hoyas and had six game-winning goals to his credit. He was first in the BIG EAST in game-winning goals and second in points, points per game, and goals per game. He was third in the BIG EAST in goals and fourth in assists and assists per game.

The MAC Hermann Trophy is the highest individual award in intercollegiate soccer presented annually in January during a banquet at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis.

The list will be narrowed down by NSCAA members from Division I programs to 15 semifinalists by November 29. Member coaches and fans will then vote for their top three choices and the finalists will be announced December 6. The winners will be announced at the awards' banquet at the Missouri Athletic Club on Friday, Jan. 11.

Neumann was one of only four players selected from the BIG EAST Conference and one of 13 juniors on the list.

The Hoyas will open the season on August 24 as the Hoyas take on the University of Virginia in Germantown, Md., at the Maryland SoccerPlex.
