Hoyas Complete C&F Bank Intercollegiate in 17th Place

March 26, 2013

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University's men's golf program competed in the C&F Bank Intercollegiate men's golf tournament hosted by William & Mary. Snow limited the scheduled 54-hole event to just 18 holes. The Hoyas placed 17th out of 32 teams with a score of 300 (+20). Winning the event was Tennessee with a 285 (+5).

The only complete round for the Hoyas was played on Sunday, March 24. Georgetown's five competitors were able to finish all 18 holes during the day. Many players were unable to finish 18 on Sunday because of a mid-March snow shower. On Monday no rounds were played and earlier today the players that did not complete their round on Sunday finished up.

Senior Curtis Loop (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) led the Hoya charge finishing one over par with a 71 and finishing tied at 14th overall. Sophomore Greg Podufal (Erie, Pa./Catholic Prep) shot a four over 74 and tied for 40th.

GU senior Justin Edwards (Westlake Village, Calif./Westlake Village) started his spring with a 75 (+5) and tied for 58th. Raleigh Chapin (Doylestown, Pa./New Hope Solebury) shot an 80 (+10) and Brian Tohir (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) shot an 83 (+13).

The Hoyas next play at the Villanova Invitational held on April 1-2 at White Manor Golf Club in Malvern, Pa.
