The Georgetown University women's golf team shot a 22-over par 310 in the second round and is 10th place after the second day of play at the 37th Annual Nittany Lion Invitational, hosted by Penn State in State College, Pa.
Kent State shot an even-par 288 in the second round and stands atop the 14-team field with a 6-over par 582. Yale is second at 7-over par 583, with host Penn State third (15-over par 591), Columbia fourth (24-over par 600) and William & Mary fifth (29-over par 605).
The Hoyas are in 10th place at 36-over par 612, but only seven shots out of the top-five, with Old Dominion in sixth (32-over par 608), Longwood seventh (33-over par 609), Akron eighth (34-over par 610) and Eastern Michigan ninth (35-over par 611).
Senior Alice Choi (Whitestone, N.Y./Bayside), who was tied for fifth place after the first round, is tied for 24th place at 8-over par 152, leading Georgetown, while sophomore Liz DiVincentis (Durham, Conn./Coginchaug Regional) is tied for 28th place at 9-over par 153.
Sophomore Patricia Lee (Lone Tree, Colo./Highlands Ranch), who had a team-best 2-over par 74 in the second round, is tied for 34th place with classmate Mackenzie Boydston (Keller, Texas/Nolan Catholic) at 10-over par 154.
Freshman Jenny Xiao (Foshan, China/Foshan No. 3 Middle School) is tied for 83rd place at 21-over par 165 and freshman Kelly Hwang (Moorestown, N.J./IMG Academy) is tied for 87th place at 26-over par 170.
The Nittany Lion Invitational concludes on Sunday, Sept. 29.
