Sept. 18, 2014 2014-15 BIG EAST Women's Basketball Broadcast Schedule
WASHINGTON - One week removed from the release of the 2014-15 schedule, the BIG EAST Conference announced the upcoming season's BIG EAST Digital Network women's basketball slate which includes over 30 live contests. In addition to the robust regular-season BEDN schedule, BIG EAST Tournament First Round Quarterfinal contests will be streamed.
The Hoyas will appear on the network four times with two games at McDonough Arena and two on the road. Georgetown will host Memphis on Dec. 13. GU will also appear in digital network games at Marquette (Feb. 1) and Seton Hall (Feb. 20). The final home game on the network is scheduled for Feb. 13 against Xavier.
Announced earlier this month, the BIG EAST Digital Network is a partnership between the Conference and FOX Sports to create a conference-specific, year-round HD digital channel via FOX Sports' mobile application, FOX Sports GO. BEDN is offering free live streaming of 80-100 sporting events annually, in addition to the authenticated live streaming of BIG EAST events on FOX Sports networks.
All 10 teams have at least one non-conference game set for BEDN, including a pair for Seton Hall, which hosts Illinois on Dec. 9 and Georgia on Dec. 28.
The conference schedule kicks off on Dec. 3 with three BIG EAST matchups scheduled to stream on BEDN. Butler at DePaul, Villanova at Providence and Xavier at St. John's will launch the league games that day. Creighton will make its BEDN conference debut at Butler on Jan. 4, while Marquette hosts DePaul on Jan. 9 for its first streamed league game. Seton Hall (vs. Marquette, Jan. 16) and Georgetown (at Marquette, Feb. 1) will follow soon after.
Including the expansive television schedule, BIG EAST teams will have over 80 regular-season games available to a national audience via FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports 2, FOX Sports GO, CBS Sports and ESPN.
The BIG EAST Tournament, presented by New York life, will also be viewable in its entirety coast-to-coast. All four days and nine games will be covered live from Allstate Arena in suburban Chicago. First Round contests, set for March 7 at 3 and 5:30 p.m. (ET), will be streamed for free on FOX Sports Go, as will all four Quarterfinal games on March 8 (1, 3:30, 7 and 9:30 p.m., ET). FOX Sports 1 will air the first Semifinal on March 9 at 6:30, while FOX Sports 2 will carry the second at 9 p.m. FOX Sports 1 will air the Championship on March 10 at 8 p.m.
The BIG EAST Digital Network will have its own branded channel within FOX Sports GO, the mobile app that provides live streaming video of FOX Sports content at home or on-the-go. The BIG EAST is the first collegiate conference to be hosted on the network's mobile platform.
FOX Sports GO is currently available for iOS, Android, Kindle Fire tablets and Fire phones, select Windows devices, and on desktops through FOXSportsGO.com. Fans can download the mobile app for free from the iTunes App Store, Google Play, Amazon App Store and Windows Store.
FOX Sports GO users who are also subscribers of participating video providers can live stream the BIG EAST men's and women's basketball telecasts, plus the Olympic sports championships, carried on FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports 2, FOX Sports Regional Networks, and FOX broadcast network. The BIG EAST women's basketball events and the Olympic sports contests that are not televised by FOX Sports do not require a video subscription.
The BIG EAST will oversee all production on the Digital Network. Rush Media Company will serve as the conference's third-party production services supplier.
