Sept. 22, 2014 WASHINGTON - Sophomore forward Alex Muyl (New York, N.Y./Bard) earned weekly honors on Monday as he helped the No. 13 Georgetown University men's soccer squad (4-1-3) to a 2-0 week against a pair of non-conference opponents. The Hoyas have just one non-conference game remaining on the schedule.
Muyl was named to the Honor Roll after tallying three assists for the week. In a 3-1 victory at Princeton University on ESPNU, the sophomore tallied two helpers. In a 1-0 shutout over the College of William & Mary, Muyl assisted on the game winner.
He totaled three points and six shots for the week. Muyl is currently second on the squad in scoring with two goals and a team-best four assists on the season for eight points.
This is Muyl's first nod to the honor roll this season and the second of his career. It marks Georgetown's fourth honor roll award of 2014.
The Hoyas will open BIG EAST Conference play on Saturday, September 27 at Butler University. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Live stats and a free webcast will be available through the Bulldogs' athletic website.
