WASHINGTON - The Georgetown women's golf team posted a two-round score of 35-over par 621 and is in fifth place among 13 teams after the first day of play at the UD Lady Blue Hen Invitational, being held at the Rehoboth Beach Country Club in Rehoboth, Del.

The Hoyas posted a 17-over par 305 in the first round and followed that up with an 18-over par 306 in the second round to finish at 45-over par 621. GU won the tournament last year.

Harvard leads the 13-team field with a 36-hole score 31-over par 607, three shots ahead of Penn (34-over par 610). Rollins and host Delaware are tied for third place at 35-over par 611, with the Blue & Gray rounding out the top five teams.

Georgetown has two players among the top-20 in the field of 72 golfers, led by freshman Christina Parsells (Bernardsville, N.J./Kent Place), who is tied for ninth place at 9-over par 153. Parsells shot a 5-over par 77 in the first round and followed that up with a 4-over par 76.

Sophomore Jacquelyn Eleey (Quincy, Mass. /The Taft School) is two shots back, tied for 16th place at 11-over par 155. She posted scores of 6-over par 78 and 5-over par 77, respectively.

Seniors Mackenzie Boydston (Keller, Texas/Nolan Catholic) and Patricia Lee (Lone Tree, Colo./Highlands Ranch) are tied for 29th place at 16-over par 160. Boydston fired a team-best 3-over par 75 in the second round, while Lee shot a 5-over par 77 in the first round.

Freshman Alexa Popowitz (Boca Raton, Fla./St. Andrew's) is tied for 34th place at 17-over par 161.

Playing as an individual, freshman Pendleton Bogache (Myrtle Beach, S.C./Episcopal [Va.]) is tied for 41st place at 19-over par 163.

The tournament wraps up on Sunday morning.
