Allen Named a MAC Hermann Trophy Finalist

Dec. 11, 2015

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University senior forward Brandon Allen (Old Bridge, N.J./St. Joseph) was named one of three male finalists for the Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Trophy on Friday. Earlier in the day, he was honored with a spot on the 2015 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Men's All-America First Team when the national squads were announced.

"I'm happy for Brandon that he is being recognized, not only for a great season, but for a great four-year career," said Georgetown Head Coach Brian Wiese. "He has worked hard on his game, and was a vital part of one of the best seasons in the history of our program."

Allen was also named First Team All-Great Lakes Region last week. He was a unanimous First Team All-BIG EAST honoree. It marked his fourth-consecutive All-BIG EAST honor and his third-consecutive nod to the first team. Allen had 15 points on six goals and three assists in conference play as well as four game winners. Overall, he led the team in scoring with 12 goals and seven assists for 31 points.

In his career, it was his third-consecutive All-American honor and his first nod to the first team.

With a goal against Hofstra University in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, Allen tallied his 50th-career goal making him the all-time goals leader in Georgetown program history.

Earlier this season, he was named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List, BIG EAST Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, Preseason All-BIG EAST and to TopDrawerSoccer.com's Preseason Best XI First Team. He was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on two occasions and to the honor roll twice as well as earning CollegeSoccerNews.com National Player of the Week honors.

The men's finalists include a pair of BIG EAST Conference student-athletes including Allen, Creighton junior forward Fabian Herbers, and Stanford senior forward Jordan Morris.

Allen is the first Hermann Trophy finalist in program history. Including Allen, Georgetown has had four Hermann semifinalists.

The MAC Hermann Trophy is the highest individual intercollegiate award administered by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, and presented annually at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis. This year's trophy presentation and banquet will take place Friday, Jan. 8, 2016.

NCAA Division I coaches that are NSCAA College Services members voted for their top choices from the list of 15 men and 15 women named semifinalists in early December. Soccer fans were also encouraged to vote for their favorite player on the MAC's website hosted by LockerDome. The six male and female semifinalists were the top vote-getters from the combined NSCAA coaches and weighted fan votes.
