Women's Golf in 19th Place at Kiawah Island Classic

The Georgetown University women's golf team posted a 27-over par 315 in the second round and stands in 19th place among 40 teams at the Kiawah Island Classic, being hosted by the College of Charleston. The teams are playing at the par 72, 5,964-yard Osprey Point course in South Carolina.

After consecutive rounds of 27-over par 315, the Hoyas have a 36-hole total of 54-over par 630.

The College of Charleston leads the field of 40 teams at 12-over par 588, with Troy second at 22-over par 598. North Florida (25-over par 601), Stetson (26-over par 602) and Elon (27-over par 603) round out the top-five teams.

Freshman Jacquelyn Eleey (Quincy, Mass./The Taft School) is Georgetown's top finisher, standing in a tied for 37th place in the field of 208 golfers at 9-over par 153. She shot a 5-over par 77 in the second round after opening with a 4-over par 76 on Sunday..

Junior Mackenzie Boydston (Keller, Texas/Nolan Catholic) carded a 7-over par 79 in the second round and is tied for 78th place at 15-over par 159.

Junior Patricia Lee (Lone Tree, Colo./Highlands Ranch) and sophomore Jenny Xiao (Foshan, China/Foshan No. 3 Middle School) are tied for 92nd place at 16-over par 160 and freshman Lauren Gros (Windermere, Fla./Windermere Prep) is tied for 122nd place at 18-over par 162.

The final round of play will be held on Tuesday morning.
