March 5, 2015 WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's golf team open the spring portion of its season at the 2015 Desert Mountain Intercollegiate on Friday morning in Scottsdale, Arizona. The Hoyas will be part of a 12-team field playing at the par-72, 7,107 Desert Mountain, Outlaw Course.
The two-day tournament, hosted by University of Michigan, will include Florida, Marquette, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oregon, Purdue, Saint Mary's, San Francisco, St. John's and Toledo.
Georgetown returns to action for the first time since finishing tied for sixth overall at the 30th Annual Georgetown Intercollegiate at The Members Club at Four Streams. Senior captain Greg Podufal (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) returns from injury and will occupy the top spot in the Hoya lineup. Freshman Cole Berman (Philadelphia, Pa./The Haverford School), who earned two tournament wins in the fall, will slot in at the second spot. Freshman Sam Madsen (Madison, Wis./Edgewood/Cardinal Gibbons(Fla.) ), sophomore Austin Rendell (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) and freshman Jack Musgrave (Chesterton, Ind./Andrean) will round out the Hoyas lineup.
