SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - The Georgetown University men's golf team finished 12th overall after the third and final round at the 2015 Desert Mountain Intercollegiate hosted by University of Michigan at par-72 Desert Mountain Club, Outlaw Course in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Senior captain Greg Podufal (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) finished tied for 38th overall with a 13-over par 229. Podufal shot a team best one-over par 73 on Saturday afternoon in his final round.
Freshman Sam Madsen (Madison, Wis./Edgewood/Cardinal Gibbons (Fla.)) finished tied for 45th overall, carding a 17-over par 233. After shooting a two-over par 74 in the second round, Madsen slipped by three strokes to shoot a 77 on Saturday afternoon. Freshman Jack Musgrave (Chesterton, Ind./Andrean) rounded out the Hoyas finishers turning in a four-over par 76 on Saturday for his best round of the tournament. Musgrave finished tied for 54th with a 237.
Oregon won the overall team title, while the Duck's Aaron Wise shoot a nine-under par 207 to win the individual title. Michigan and Purdue finished with team scores of 873 to tie for second place.
Georgetown returns to action on Saturday, March 28 when they travel to Delray Beach, Fla. to participate in the three-day Slomin Autism Invitational.
