April 10, 2015 WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's golf team begins competition at the Princeton Invitational on Saturday at 11:30 a.m.at the Aronimink Golf Club. The round on Sunday will be played at the Merion Golf Club East Course in Ardmore, Pa.
THE FIELD: The Hoyas will be part of a 13-team field that also includes Brown, Cornell, Darmouth, Penn, Princeton, St. John's, Seton Hall, Rider, Rutgers, St. Joseph's, Temple and Yale. The field will play 18 holes on Saturday and Sunday.
LAST TIME OUT: Georgetown finished 12th of the 20-team field at the FAU Slomin Autism Invitational at the Fountains Country Club North Course in Lake Worth, Fla. Freshman Cole Berman (Philadelphia, Pa./The Haverford School) shot a team-best 217 to tie for 12th place overall. Freshman Sam Madsen (Madison, Wis./Edgewood/Cardinal Gibbons (Fla.)) finished one stroke behind with a score of 218 to tie for 15th overall.
AT THE PRINCETON INVITATIONAL: Georgetown finished eighth of 15 squads at the Princeton Invitational in 2014 as Austin Rendell (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) tied for sixth overall, shooting a three-under par 210, just five strokes behind the individual winner. This will be the sixth consecutive season the Blue & Gray will compete at Princeton, with its best finish during that span coming in 2012 when they were second overall.
