WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's heavyweight rowing team competed at the Eastern Association of Rowing Colleges (EARC) Sprints on Sunday on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass.
The varsity eight crew placed sixth in its opening heat with a time of 5:52.727. The Hoyas then raced in the third level final, beating their earlier time to finish fifth in 5:52.568, ahead of the boat from Rutgers.
The second varsity eight took fifth in its morning heat, crossing the finish line in 5:58.416. Racing in the third final, the Blue & Gray placed third with a time of 6:05.071, just behind the crew from George Washington.
GU's third varsity eight boat had similar results as the first two Hoya boats, finishing sixth in its preliminary heat with a time of 6:13.717. The Hoyas then clocked in at 6:25.079 in the third final to place fourth, ahead of the Rutgers crew.
