Aug. 20, 2015 WASHINGTON - Georgetown University Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Lee Reed announced today that Stephen Full has been promoted to Head Women's Rowing Coach. Full will serve as the interim head coach for the 2015-16 academic year.
Full replaces Miranda Paris who had served as the women's rowing head coach since 2011 and decided to pursue non-rowing interests.
"We will miss Miranda and we deeply appreciate her commitment to Georgetown," Reed said. "At the same time, we are happy to have someone like Steve to serve as our interim coach. He has demonstrated a commitment and care for Georgetown rowing athletes extending to their full educational experience."
Full has been a member of the Georgetown coaching staff since 2011, serving as an assistant coach for the women's rowing program. He has worked primarily with the novice rowers.
Prior to arriving at the Hilltop, Full was an assistant coach at his alma mater, the University of Washington, where his responsibilities included coaching novice rowers and freshman walk-ons. That year, Full helped coach the Huskies freshman team to an undefeated season.
Full also served as the head coach of the Vashon Island Rowing Club, were his team medaled in 12 of 17 events during his tenure, including six gold medals.
A four-year letterwinner at the University of Washington, Full helped the Huskies to two Pac-10 championships, as well as a first-place finish at the Head of the Charles in 2006.
Internationally, Full has competed in the Golden Boat race in Russia where he earned gold in 2007 as well as the Great Race held in New Zealand.
