WASHINGTON - Sophomore defender Peter Schropp (Omaha, Neb./Creighton Prep) earned weekly honors on Monday as he helped the Georgetown University men's soccer squad (5-8-1, 2-3-1 BIG EAST) to a 2-0 week.

Schropp helped the Hoyas to a 1-0 win over St. John's on Saturday holding the Red Storm to just 12 shots, three on goal. In midweek action, Schropp had a goal and sent in the free kick that led to the eventual match-winner in a 4-3 double overtime victory over Princeton. The goal was the first of his intercollegiate career.

So far in 2016, Schropp has started all 14 games for the Blue & Gray, and has helped the defense to three shutouts on the year.

This is the first honor roll award of Schropp's career. It is also Georgetown's fourth weekly award this season.

The Hoyas will be back in action on Wednesday as the squad travels to South Orange, N.J., to take on the Seton Hall Pirates at 7 p.m. The contest will be broadcast live on the BIG EAST Digital Network, and live stats will also be available at www.GUHoyas.com.
