Women's Basketball Adds Osagie-Erese to Roster

Oct. 25, 2016

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University's Women's Basketball Head Coach Natasha Adair announced the addition of walk-on Marvellous Osagie-Erese (East Orange, N.J./East Orange STEM Academy) to the roster on Monday. The freshman guard joins the squad in the midst of preseason as the Hoyas prepare for the season opener on Nov. 11.

"Marvellous brings a strong work ethic and basketball knowledge to the team," said Adair. "She will give us more depth at the guard position."

Osagie-Erese was a four-year letterwinner and one-year starter in high school. Her team won the Super Essex Conference Championship as a junior and senior. The squad won the North Jersey Section 2 Group 4 Title twice and was the Team of the Year in 2015-16.

Individually, she scored more than 1,000 points in her career and was named First Team in the American Division as a senior.

Off the court, Osagie-Erese was the class valedictorian and a member of the National Honor Society and Environmental Club.

Her sister, Angel, is a manager with the Hoya women's squad and a sophomore at Georgetown.

Georgetown will open the season on Nov. 11 at home hosting George Washington University.
