Georgetown Sports Properties Announces Men's Basketball Radio Schedule

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University Athletics Department, Georgetown Sports Properties and 106.7 FM The Fan CBS Radio have announced the radio schedule for the 2016-17 men’s basketball season.

Georgetown men’s basketball games will be heard on 106.7 FM The Fan CBS Radio for the second-straight year after the athletics department signed a multi-year agreement with the station in 2015. In addition to 106.7 FM, CBS Radio also counts 99.1 FM WNEW (which can be heard in Baltimore) and CBS Sports Radio 1580 AM as part of its broadcast family.

More than 20 of Georgetown’s games will be heard primarily on 106.7 FM The Fan, with seven games slated for 99.1 FM and one for 1580 AM. The season opener on Saturday, Nov. 12 against USC-Upstate can be heard on 106.7 FM The Fan.

Georgetown will have seven games air on 99.1 FM WNEW, including three non-league games – vs. Maryland (Nov. 15), against Coppin State (Nov. 30) and UConn (Jan. 14). BIG EAST Conference games scheduled to air on 99.1 FM WNEW include at Marquette (Dec. 28), Xavier (Dec. 31), at Providence (Jan. 4) and Butler (Jan. 7).

The opening game of the Maui Invitational against Oregon in Hawaii (Nov. 21, 4:30 p.m.) is slated to air on CBS Sports Radio 1580.

Games slated for 106.7 FM The Fan include: Arkansas State (Nov. 17), Howard (Nov. 27), Elon (Dec. 4), LaSalle (Dec. 10), Syracuse (Dec. 17), UNC Greensboro (Dec. 22), St. John’s (Jan. 9), Providence (Jan. 16), at Xavier (Jan. 22), Creighton (Jan. 25), at Butler (Jan. 28), at DePaul (Jan. 31), Seton Hall (Feb. 4), at Villanova (Feb. 7), Marquette (Feb. 11), at Creighton (Feb. 19), DePaul (Feb. 22), at St. John’s (Feb. 25), at Seton Hall (Feb. 28) and Villanova (March 4).

Georgetown men’s basketball fans will be able to tune in to 106.7 FM The Fan to hear long-time Hoyas radio voice Rich Chvotkin calling all of the action. Chvotkin will be entering his 43rd year behind the microphone calling the Blue & Gray. WJFK-FM The Fan is the radio home of The Sports Junkies in the morning and is the radio home for Major League Baseball’s Washington Nationals.
