Hoyas Host Towson for Early Afternoon Matchup

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's tennis team is set to host Towson University for a noon matchup on Tuesday, Feb. 8 at the Arlington YMCA.

Last season, the Hoyas defeated Towson, 5-2, fueling a four-match winning streak for GU.

Georgetown had three players earn singles victories in straight sets, led by Victoire Saperstein (Las Vegas, Nev./Odyssey Charter School), who defeated Towson's Sophie Lesage at the No. 1 position.

Daphne de Chatellus (Tiburon, Calif./Redwood) and Casey Marx (Mendham, N.J./West Morris Mendham) were also victorious for the Hoyas at the No. 5 and 6 positions, respectively.

Towson enters the matchup with a 3-1 record. The Tigers last saw action on Saturday, Feb. 6 when they earned a perfect 7-0 victory over the University of Rhode Island, securing five singles points in straight-set matches.
