The Georgetown University women's tennis team blanked the Seton Hall Pirates, 7-0, in Georgetown's fourth BIG EAST match of the season on Thursday.
In its only contest of the week, the Hoyas protected their home courts against Seton Hall to earn its first conference win of the season.
The Blue & Gray dominated doubles play with ease as the Hoyas secured all three matches. The duo of Victoire Saperstein (Las Vegas, Nev./Odyssey Charter School) and Risa Nakagawa (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif./Palos Verdes Peninsula) played a perfect 6-0 at the No. 1 spot while Sydney Goodson (Great Falls, Va./Langley High School) and Cecilia Lynham (Chevy Chase, Md./Holton Arms School) garnered a flawless 6-0 match at the No. 2 spot.
Keeping control of the match, Georgetown took three out six singles matches in straight sets while three Hoyas rallied to keep the 7-0 GU victory intact. Saperstein, Lynham and Sophia Barnard (Mill Neck, N.Y./Portledge School) took the Nos. 1, 4 and 5 spots, respectively, in two sets while Nakagawa, Sara Swift (Vail, Co./Saint Edward's School) and Goodson prevailed in three sets to take the Nos. 2, 3 and 6 spots, respectively.
The Hoyas will look to continue its dominance on the court as they welcome Saint Francis (Pa.) on Saturday, April 2 for a 10 a.m. matchup
