WASHINGTON -

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's tennis team (4-3) went 2-0 this weekend with wins against Point Loma and University of California at San Diego in San Diego, Calif.

The Hoyas opened their victorious weekend on Saturday, March 5, with an 8-1 triumph over the Sea Lions of Point Loma. Georgetown secured the doubles point, taking all three doubles matches. The Blue & Gray cushioned its lead, going 5-1 in singles play.

Georgetown continued its momentum with a 6-3 win over UC San Diego on Sunday, March 6, at Northview Courts.

USCD took the double point, but the Hoyas rallied back to claim the match, winning five singles matches.

Overall, Victoire Saperstein (Las Vegas, Nev./Odyssey Charter School), Sarah Swift (Vail, Co./Saint Edward's School) and Daphne de Chatellus (Tiburon, Calif./Redwood) went undefeated against both opponents this weekend.

The squad's next match up is against Loyola Marymount on Tuesday March 8 at 4 p.m. ET
