June 15, 2016 Vote Here!
WASHINGTON - Georgetown University men's soccer alum Keegan Rosenberry (MSB '15) is one of 160 players on the ballot for the 2016 AT&T Major League Soccer (MLS) All-Star Game. The defender has had a breakout rookie season for the Philadelphia Union after being the third overall pick in the 2016 SuperDraft. Fans can vote for Rosenberry online at MLSsoccer.com through July 4.
Despite being in his first MLS season, Rosenberry's contribution has been significant. He has played every single minute for the Union this season, making him both the only member of the club, as well as the only rookie in MLS, to hold the distinction.
In matches against the LA Galaxy and NYFC, Rosenberry blanked superstar forwards Giovani Dos Santos, Robbie Keane, and current league-leading goal scorer David Villa.
Alongside Rosenberry, the Union's young backline is conceding only 1.14 goals per game, tied for fewest amongst all Eastern Conference teams. They're on pace for their best defensive season since 2011 and have already posted three clean sheets this season before the Copa América break.
Sources have confirmed that Rosenberry is currently among the top three defenders in the voting, but there is still a lot of time left and every vote counts.
In his Georgetown career, Rosenberry had one goal and four assists along with one game winner in conference play as well as two goals and six assists overall to rank as Georgetown's fifth-leading scorer with 10 points in 2015. He had four goals and 13 assists for 21 points in his career. The two-year captain was a Second Team All-BIG EAST honoree for three-consecutive seasons. He was named Preseason All-BIG EAST and to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Oct. 5 while helping the defense to nine shutouts in 2015.
He was a two-time All-Great Lakes Region honoree, and a member of the BIG EAST All-Academic squad.
Fans can vote for the Fan XI either through online ballot and/or the AT&T/EA SPORTSTM "More Than a Vote" Challenge through July 4 at 3 p.m. ET. The MLS All-Stars will face Arsenal FC of the English Premier League on July 28 at Avaya Stadium, home of the San Jose Earthquakes, in the 2016 AT&T MLS All-Star Game.
To create the fan ballot, media members nominated a total of 160 players. The 10 players -- one goalkeeper, three defenders, four midfielders and two forwards -- with the highest combined votes will then be named to the All-Star Fan XI.
