Sept. 24, 2016 WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's golf team posted a second-round score of 19-over par 307 and fell to 16th place among 20 teams after the second round of play at the 44th Lady Paladin Invitational. The tournament is hosted at the par-72, 6,313-yard Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, S.C.
The Hoyas have a two-round score of 32-over par 608, including a first round 13-over par 301.
Host Furman and Texas are tied for the team lead with scores of 9-under par 567. Illinois is in third place at 4-under par 572, with Augusta University in fourth place (2-over par 578) and Middle Tennessee in fifth place at 7-over par 583).
Sophomore Pendleton Bogache (Myrtle Beach, S.C./Episcopal [Va.]) shot a 4-over par 75 and is tied for 41st place at 4-over par 148, while freshman Ashley Fitzgibbons (Sammamish, Wash./Eastlake Senior) is tied for 48th place at 6-over par 150, including a 7-over par 79 on Saturday.
Sophomore Christina Parsells (Bernardsville, N.J./Kent Place) and sophomore Alexa Popowitz (Boca Raton, Fla./St. Andrew's) are tied for 81st place at 12-over par 156. Parsells carded a 5-over par 76 on Saturday, while Popowitz had a 7-over par 73. Junior Jacquelyn Eleey (Quincy, Mass./The Taft School) is one shot back, tied for 87th place at 13-over par 157.
The tournament concludes on Sunday, Sept. 25.
