Beallsville, Md. - Georgetown University's men's golf team overcame an eight-stroke deficit after two rounds to win the 33rd Annual Georgetown Intercollegiate at the Members Club at Four Streams Club on Tuesday. The Hoyas shaved 18 strokes off their second round score for a 287, the best 18 holes of the event, en route to an 894 team score and a two-stroke win over BIG EAST foe Seton Hall.

Senior co-captain Cole Berman (Philadelphia, Pa./The Haverford School) finished the 54 holes in a six-way tie for first place, forcing a playoff on the par-3, 10th hole. Navy's Charlie Musto would outlast his opponents in the third playoff hole to claim individual medalist honors.

Berman led the Hoyas with a 6-over par 219, followed by fellow captain Sam Madsen (Madison, Wis./Edgewood/Cardinal Gibbons [Fla.]) who tied for 16th place with a 226. Eduardo Blochtein (Delray Beach, Fla./The Haverford School) also posted a top-20 finish, carding a 227 to tie for 19th while co-captain Jack Musgrave (Chesterton, Ind./Andrean) was hot on his trail with a 228 to tie for 21st courtesy of a 2-under par 69 in the final round. Patrick DiPasquale (Rochester, N.Y./McQuaid Jesuit) rounded out the group with a 229 to tie for 26th.

Georgetown also fielded a Gray squad which shot a 912 to finish ninth. Anthony Perrino (Concord, N.C./The Canon School) led the GU Gray team with a 223 to tie for 10th place after posting a 69 over the final 18 holes of play on Tuesday. Kevin Jackson (Atlanta, Ga./Marist School) regained form from his first round score with a 73 to total 224 and tie for 13th overall. Rounding out the competitors was Will Rand (New York, N.Y./Blair Academy [N.J.]), Hardin Councill (High Point, N.C./Westchester Country Day) and Tim Rotermund (Madison, Conn./Trinity Prep [Fla.]).

The Georgetown Blue team won its host tournament with an 894 after finishing third and second in each of the past two seasons. Seton Hall (896) and Rutgers (897) were the only other teams to break 900. Saint Joseph's (901) was fourth, followed by William & Mary (902), Navy (904) and Temple (906). Georgetown's Gray team posted a 912 for eighth place, followed by Rhode Island (914), Florida Atlantic (920) and Stetson (942).

Georgetown returns to action at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate on October 22-24, hosted by Old Dominion at Kilmarlic Golf Club in Powells Point, N.C.
