WASHINGTON - Georgetown University women's basketball forward Cynthia Petke (Yaounde, Cameroon/-/Chipola) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll the league announced on Monday. It is the first weekly honor for the Hoyas this season and the first of her career.

Petke notched three-straight double-doubles to open the year, starting with 14 points and 14 rebounds in a win over Howard, 17 points and 10 boards in a win at Loyola Maryland and 14 points and 16 rebounds at George Washington. The senior averaged 15 points, 14.3 rebounds in the Hoyas' 2-1 week to begin the 2017-18 season.

The Hoyas return to action this week as they compete in the Challenge in Music City, held Nov. 24-26 in Nashville, Tenn. The Blue & Gray will play Auburn, Chattanooga and Northwestern over the three-day tournament with the Tigers up first on Nov. 24 with an 8:30 p.m. ET tipoff.
