WASHINGTON - Georgetown University's men's rowing team hits the water for the first time this spring as it travels to Princeton, N.J., on Saturday. The lightweight squad will have a pair of races on the day, going head-to-head with Delaware in the morning and host Princeton in the evening, while the heavyweight team will scrimmage against Princeton.

"We're coming off a great spring break training trip and are comfortable coming into the spring racing season," said Head Men's Rowing Coach Luke Agnini. "We're looking to get max speed and to perform at 100 percent. It'll be good to see who performs under pressure when it counts."

The heavyweight scrimmage begins at 8 a.m. while the lightweight race against Delaware starts at 1 p.m. The lightweight squad's showdown with the host Tigers will be at 5:30 p.m., and can be watched live on the Ivy League Digital Network.

"We're excited to finally see the lightweight team compete against other boats," said Lightweight Varsity Coach Lee Rumpf. "Our boats are very young, but we have a lot of talent and we're excited to see what they can do."

Following Saturday's races, the Hoyas return to action as the heavyweight squad races Temple and St. Joseph's on April 1, and the lightweight team takes on Yale and MIT on April 8.
