WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's tennis team was defeated by Long Beach State by a score of 6-1 on Wednesday. With the loss, the Hoyas fall to 6-2 on the season while Long Beach State improves to 7-2.
Sarah Swift (Vail, Colo./Saint Edward's School) picked up the lone victory for the Blue & Gray at No. 3 singles, 1-6, 6-1, 6-3.
The 49ers led from the beginning after winning the doubles point. They then went on to win five of six matches during singles.
Georgetown returns to the court on Tuesday, March 7 when it travels to Los Angeles, Calif., for a 2 p.m. ET match against Utah State.
