June 2, 2017 WASHINGTON - Georgetown University's lightweight women's rowing team returns to the water at the IRA National Championship this weekend on Lake Natoma in California. The Hoyas will race in the 8+ events beginning on Saturday.
One of eight boats competing, GU will race in the first heat on Saturday at 8:40 a.m. PST. The Blue & Gray will go up against Princeton, Stanford and Wisconsin in the draw while Tulsa, Harvard Radcliffe, Boston University and MIT round out the field.
The first and second place boats from each heat will advance to the Grand Final on Sunday at 11:40 a.m. All others will race once again in the repechage at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, with the top two finishers also advancing to the Grand Final. The remaining crews from the repechage will compete in the Petit Final on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
