June 21, 2017 WASHINGTON - Georgetown University Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach Gordie Ernst has named Courtney Dolehide the new assistant coach for both squads for the 2017-18 school year. Dolehide comes to the Hilltop from the University of Texas where she was an assistant coach for three seasons. Dolehide will assist Ernst in all aspects of both the men's and women's programs.
"I'm extremely excited to have a coach the caliber of Courtney join the staff," said Ernst. "She brings a stellar playing background as a top US junior and an all-American at UCLA as well as a US Open participant. She also brings three years at Texas as an assistant to one of the top programs in the country. She'll bring a wealth of knowledge and experience, and be an asset to both me and the student-athletes. I couldn't think of a better mentor and role model for our players."
With the Longhorns, Dolehide was an on-court coach and also played a significant role fundraising and managing donor relations for the program.
Dolehide got her start in coaching at Utah State University, where she served as a volunteer assistant women's tennis coach and head of men's and women's tennis operations in the fall of 2014 for the Aggies.
As a player, Dolehide was the team captain in 2014 when UCLA won the NCAA team title. She helped lead the Bruins to the NCAA semifinals or better in each of her four seasons. The Hinsdale, Illinois, native earned ITA All-America honors in doubles during the 2012 season.
An accomplished junior tennis standout, Dolehide competed in the main doubles draw at the 2009 US Open prior to her enrollment at UCLA.
A member of the Pac-12 Conference All-Academic Team and the UCLA National Academic Honor Society, Dolehide earned her bachelor's degree in political science in the spring of 2014.
Along with coaching, Dolehide is beginning the MBA program in the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown.
