WASHINGTON - The No. 16 Georgetown University men's soccer squad will host Stony Brook University (5-1-1) on Wednesday afternoon at Shaw Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. The Hoyas are 4-1-1 on the season jumping back into nonconference play against the Seawolves.

On Saturday, the men's soccer team battled into extra minutes, but fell early in overtime, 1-0, to the Xavier University Musketeers in both squads' BIG EAST Conference opener. It marked the first loss of the season for the Blue & Gray. The Hoyas outshot the Musketeers, 16-13, but Xavier took three corner kicks to Georgetown's two. Junior keeper JT Marcinkowski (Alamo, Calif./De La Salle) took the loss stopping two shots.

Sophomore forward Achara (Enugu, Nigeria/Berkshire School [Mass.]) is leading the way for the Blue & Gray with five goals for 10 points on the season. He is followed by senior captain Christopher Lema (Ridgefield, N.J./Ridgefield Memorial) who has two goals and one assist for five points. Junior Ethan Lochner (New York, N.Y./Stuyvesant) and freshman Derek Dodson (Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) round out the top scorers with one goal and one assist each for three points apiece. Freshman midfielder Jacob Montes (Lake Worth, Fla./Beaverton [Ore.]) has a squad-best two assists on the year.

In the goal, Marcinkowski has made 13 saves with a 0.47 GAA in 570 minutes played.

The Seawolves most recently topped Bryant on the road, 1-0, on Sept. 16 to extend its undefeated streak to five games. Serge Gamwanya scored the goal for Stony Brook less than two minutes before the end of the first half, striking a penalty kick into the back of the net to make it 1-0 Seawolves. The Seawolves were selected to finish third in the 2017 America East Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll.

The Hoyas are 1-0 all-time against Stony Brook posting a 1-0 victory at Shaw Field during the 2008 campaign.
