WASHINGTON - Georgetown University women's basketball junior guard Dionna White (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll the league announced on Monday. It is the third nod to the weekly honor for White this season and the seventh of her career.
In a 2-0 week for the Hoyas, White averaged 16.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.5 steals. The junior shot 50 percent from the field in Friday's 63-52 win at Butler, totaling 19 points, seven rebounds, four steals and three assists. On Sunday, White managed 14 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals in a 65-48 victory at Xavier.
White is leading the team with 17.4 ppg, sitting at third in the BIG EAST, and ranks second in rebounds pulling down 6.6 rpg. Her 59 steals lead the conference as well.
This is Georgetown's fifth weekly award of the season and fourth nod to the honor roll.
The Hoyas will conclude their three-game road swing next weekend as the squad travels to Villanova University for a 1 p.m. matchup on Saturday.
