WASHINGTON – Georgetown University men's soccer senior captain
Brendan McDonough (Matthews, N.C. / Charlotte Catholic) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll the league office announced Monday morning. The Hoyas are 7-3-3 on the season and 3-1-1 to sit in third place in the BIG EAST Conference.
In a pair of double overtime contests for the Blue & Gray, McDonough aided on both sides of the ball, helping to shutout Maryland on Monday while assisting on junior
Riley Strassner's (Avon, Conn. / Avon) golden goal against Villanova on Saturday. GU held a solid 48-27 margin in shots over the 1-0-1 week.
This is McDonough's first career weekly honor despite an All-BIG EAST honoree a season ago. It is the fifth nod to the honor roll for a Hoya this season.
