Men’s Golf Closes Out Fall Slate at ODU/OBX Intercollegiate

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's golf team will wrap up its fall schedule at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate, hosted by Old Dominion, in Powells Point, North Carolina on Oct. 21-23. The Hoyas look to improve on their sixth-place finish from a year ago at the par-71, 6,502-yard course at Kilmarlic Golf Course.

The Blue & Gray is coming off of a third-place showing at the 34th Georgetown Intercollegiate after posting a three-round total of 868. Georgetown pulled within a stroke of eventual champion Princeton mid-round, but a late push by BIG EAST foe Seton Hall gave the Hoyas their top-three finish. Eduardo Blochtein (Delray Beach, Fla. / Spanish River) finished the tournament with a 2-over par 215 to tie for fourth overall and Will O'Neill (Morristown, N.J. / Morristown) tied for 17th with a 5-over 218. Patrick DiPasquale (Rochester, N.Y. / McQuaid Jesuit) tied for 28th at 221, carding a second round 66 to shoot one stroke shy of the course record 6-under par at Four Streams.

Blochtein leads the Hoyas with a 73.18 stroke average, followed by DiPasquale and Will Rand (New York, N.Y. / Blair Academy [N.J.]) at 74.36 and 74.63, respectively. O'Neill has an even 75.00 average followed by Hardin Councill (High Point, N.C. / Westchester Country Day) with a 75.27.

The ODU/OBX Invitational will take place over three days in the Tar Heel State with 18 holes played each day. Sunday's action starts at 9:15 a.m. for the Hoyas as they tee off on the 10th hole with Longwood and Delaware. Other programs in the field include Akron, Campbell, Drake, Drexel, George Mason, Hartford, Manhattan, Nebraska-Omaha, North Dakota State, St. Francis (Pa.), Saint Joseph's Towson, UNC Wilmington, Winthrop and the host Monarchs.

Last season, Georgetown shot a 3-over par 855 to finish sixth overall behind Campbell, Ball State, Old Dominion, North Dakota State and Akron. DiPasquale is the top returner for a year ago following a 22nd-place finish with an even-par 213.
