Georgetown University's men's golf team shaved six strokes off its opening round with a second-round score of 289 on Monday, but dropped one spot to fifth overall at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate, hosted by Old Dominion, in Powells Point, North Carolina. The Hoyas have posted a two-round score of 584.
(High Point, N.C. / Westchester Country Day) and Eduardo Blochtein
(Delray Beach, Fla. / Spanish River) both sit tied for 11th overall with at 1-over par 143. Blochtein shot an even-par 71 on Monday while Councill carded a 1-over 72.
(Rochester, N.Y. / McQuaid Jesuit) is tied for 32nd with a two-round score of 147 after shooting a 72 while Will O'Neill
(Morristown, N.J. / Morristown) posted a 74 to tie for 50th with a two-round score of 151. Will Rand
(New York, N.Y. / Blair Academy [N.J.]) carded a 76 to tie for 64th with a two-round score of 154 to round out the Hoyas.
Campbell (546) leads the field at 22-under par, followed by UNC-Wilmington (569), Drexel (577), the host Monarchs (583) and the Hoyas (584). The middle of the pack includes Winthrop (587), Delaware (588), George Mason (589) and Drake (590). North Dakota State, Nebraska-Omaha, Akron and Saint Joseph's are all tied for 10th at 594, while Longwood (598), Towson (602), Hartford (610), Manhattan (626) and St. Francis (Pa.) (628) round out the competition.
The ODU/OBX Intercollegiate concludes on Tuesday with a final 18 holes at the Kilmarlic Golf Course. Georgetown once again tees off from the first hole, beginning at 8:45 a.m. with nine-minute intervals. The Hoyas are paired with Old Dominion and Winthrop for the day.
