WASHINGTON – Georgetown University men's soccer sophomore goalkeeper
Ethan Koehler (Maplewood, N.J. / Columbia) was named the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday. Additionally, junior forward
Achara (Enugu, Nigeria / Berkshire School [Mass.]) earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. The Hoyas are currently 8-3-3 overall and 4-1-1 in BIG EAST play with three games remaining.
Starting and appearing in just his second match of the season, Koehler made five saves in 90 minutes of work to keep Seton Hall off the board in the 4-0 shutout victory. The Pirates took 14 shots on the day with Koehler denying all attempts to lead the Hoyas to crucial victory which bumped them into second place in the BIG EAST standings.
This is Koehler's first weekly honor and the second goalkeeper of the week award for the Hoyas this season. It is GU's fifth weekly award overall.
Achara scored a pair of goals in Saturday's shutout, breaking into the scoring column in the seventh minute for the game winner, then adding an insurance score in the 61st. He currently has six goals on the season to rank second on the team and fourth in the league.
This is Achara's second nod to the honor roll of his career and the sixth for the Hoyas this season.
