WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's soccer team will travel to Butler University for a Friday evening BIG EAST Conference matchup in Indianapolis, Indiana. Georgetown is 5-3-2 on the season and 1-1-1 in BIG EAST play.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.  The game will be broadcast live on the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN) with Matt Schumacker and Sam Weiderhaft calling the action.

The Hoyas are coming off of a scoreless double-overtime draw at Marquette last Saturday.  The Blue & Gray played a man up for the second half and overtime, but were unable to find the back of the net on the cold and rainy evening.  Georgetown outshot Marquette, 12-11, and took eight corner kicks to MU's three.  Freshman goalkeeper
Giannis Nikopolidis (Athens, Greece / Nea Genia Zirdi) had three saves in the net.

Sophomore forward
Derek Dodson (Aurora, Ill. / Waubonsie Valley) is leading the team in scoring with 10 points, tallying five goals on the year.  He is followed by junior forward
Achara (Enugu, Nigeria / Berkshire School [Mass.] ) who has nine points for the season with four goals and an assist.  Senior captain
Kyle Zajec (Westport, Conn. / Staples) is third with two goals and three assists, while senior
Ethan Lochner (New York, N.Y. / Stuyvesant), sophomore
Rio Hope-Gund (New York, N.Y. / Friends Seminary) and junior defender
Dylan Nealis (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) have four points apiece.  Lochner has a goal and two assists, while Hope-Gund has managed a pair of goals.  Nealis has a team-high four assists.  Nikopolidis has played in eight games and tallied 29 saves with a 1.06 GAA.

Butler (2-6-2, 0-3 BIG EAST) battled back from a 1-0 deficit to earn a 2-2 tie Tuesday night at Evansville. Jared Timmer had both second-half goals for the visiting Bulldogs. Keeper Ryan Clark, making his first start of the season and the second of his Butler career, was strong in goal all night. He made nine saves, including several diving stops to keep the Bulldogs in the match.

The Hoyas are 4-1 all-time against the Bulldogs and 1-1 on the road.  Last year, Georgetown downed Butler, 3-0, at Shaw Field as
Declan McCabe (C'18),
Achara and Dodson all scored in the first half for the shutout victory.  In the last meeting in Indianapolis, the Hoyas suffered a 4-2 defeat during the 2016 season.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and live stats will be available at
