WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's golf team finished the opening day of the Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational, hosted by West Virginia, in 10th place on Monday. The Hoyas shot a first round score of 309 before the second round was halted because of darkness.
Tuesday's action will begin at 8 a.m. with the final three holes of the unfinished second round, followed by the final 18 holes of the third round. Live scoring for the event can be found at www.GUHoyas.com.
Patrick DiPasquale (Rochester, N.Y. / McQuaid Jesuit) is tied for seventh overall with an even-par 72 after the first round.
Hardin Councill (High Point, N.C. / Westchester Country Day) carded a 77 to sit tied for 32nd,
Eduardo Blochtein (Delray Beach, Fla. / Spanish River) is tied for 45th with a 79 and
Noah Moss (Bethesda, Md. / Walter Johnson) shot an 81 to tie for 50th.
Will O'Neill (Morristown, N.J. / Morristown) rounded out the Hoya lineup with an 83 to tie for 68th.
Host WVU (289) leads the field, followed by James Madison (294), Davidson (296), Winthrop (297) and Eastern Kentucky (298). Bowling Green (301), Seton Hall (305), Rutgers (306), Akron (308), Georgetown (309) and Boston College (310) have a logjam in the middle of the pack while Ohio (313), St. John's (319) and Marshall (320) round out the competition.
Following Tuesday's final round, the Hoyas return home to host the 34th Georgetown Intercollegiate on Oct. 15-16 and the Members Club at Four Streams in Beallsville, Maryland.
