Women’s Basketball Announces a Pair of NLI Signings

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University Head Women's Basketball Coach James Howard announced the signing of two student-athletes to National Letters of Intent for the 2019-20 season. The duo will join a large roster of returners in Howard's third season at the helm on the Hilltop.

Prior to Georgetown: A four-year starter and at Lake George Jr.-Sr. High School … Served as a three-year captain on her high school squad ... Two-time Adirondack League MVP and an Adirondack League First Team selection in 2014 and 2015 … First Team All-State in 2016 and 2017 … A three-time member of the News Channel 13 All-Star Team … 2017 Times Union Small School Player of the Year and won the Times Union Scholar Athlete Award the same year … Team won the 2015 NYS Section 2 Championship and four Adirondack League titles … A member of the NYS Scholar Athlete Team from 2013-17 … Lake George's all-time leading scorer and rebounder heading into her senior season … Holds the records for most points, rebounds and blocks in a game as well as most double-doubles in a season … Averaged 23.0 ppg and 18.0 rpg as a junior … Played AAU with the Albany Capitals and spent a season with Exodus EYBL … Serves as the Varsity Club president and the class president as well as being a member of the student council and the National Honor Society … Also a starter and captain on the volleyball team being named the Adirondack League MVP as team won the league championship … Father, Jeff, played football at Syracuse and Holy Cross while her mother, Michelle, played basketball at Keene State.
 
Howard on Bennett: Graceann will be a great addition to our team. She brings such amazing energy and vocal leadership to the table. She's a stretch post player that can make her living inside the paint or outside the arc. Her size and basketball IQ will help her be successful in our conference. We look forward to getting her here.

Prior to Georgetown: A three-year starter and captain at Southern Lehigh … Earned three varsity letters … Earned Colonial League MVP, Lehigh Valley MVP, first team all-league and all-area honors as well as a spot on the second team all-state as a junior … Named first team all-league and all-area as well as third team all-state as a sophomore … Freshman awards included second team all-league and all-area honors … Team has won three-consecutive Colonial League Championships and District 11 Championships … Scored her 1,000th point during her junior season … Averaged 17.3 ppg last season … Also a starter on the volleyball team earning all-league and all-area awards … Played AAU with Exodus EYBL and the Philadelphia Belles … Named to the 2017 Boo Williams All-Tournament Team … A member of the National Honor Society as well as the Key Club and Varsity Club.
 
Howard on Synder: We are so excited to have Olivia join us here at Georgetown. She brings one of the best midrange games that I've seen in a long time. She is a hard-nosed, tough and competitive player that will help us on both ends of the floor. We can't wait to see the impact that she will have on our team.
