WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's basketball team (4-1) will open play at the South Point Shootout in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the South Point Arena & Equestrian Center on Friday against the University of Buffalo at 8 p.m. ET. The squad will play its second contest of the tournament on Saturday at 10:30 p.m. ET, against No. 4/5 Baylor University.

The Hoyas downed the University of Pittsburgh Panthers on Monday evening in McDonough Arena 70-41. Four different Hoyas recorded double digits, including senior Dionna White (Baltimore, Md. / Milford Mill), who tallied a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards along with four assists. Graduate student Dorothy Adomako (Midlothian, Va. / Cosby) recorded 14 points and nine rebounds, graduate student Mikayla Venson (Arlington, Va. / Yorktown / Virginia) contributed 13 points and four helpers and senior Brianna Jones (North Babylon, N.Y. / North Babylon / Louisville) rounded out the group with 10 points and four boards.

The Blue & Gray outscored the Panthers in all four quarters and outrebounded them 52-36. Georgetown shot 35.5 percent (22 for 62) and 76.2 percent from the free throw line (16 for 21). The Hoyas forced 18 turnovers from Pitt, managed six steals and hit 10 3-pointers.

White was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll the league announced on Monday. It was the second weekly honor for the Hoyas this season and the eighth nod of her career.  In a 1-1 week for the Hoyas, White averaged 18.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals, including a 22-point, eight-rebound outing at James Madison on Friday.  In a 45-30 win over Loyola earlier in the week, White managed 15 points and six rebounds as well as three steals in the contest.

Georgetown has three players averaging double digits as White and Venson lead the team with 14.0 ppg, respectively.  Adomako is third with 13.5 ppg.  White is averaging 8.0 rpg to lead the squad and Adomako is second with 6.8 rpg.  Venson has a team-best 22 assists on the season and junior forward Anita Kelava (Zagreb, Croatia / Croatian National Team / Maine) has 10 blocks to her credit.

The squad currently holds an +6.4 rebounding margin over opponents as well as a +1.6 margin in turnovers.

Buffalo is 2-1 on season, most recently falling to the University of Oregon 102-82 on Sunday.  The squad defeated a common opponent in Maryland Eastern Shore 69-63.  Georgetown downed Eastern Shore by a score of 74-55.  Cierra Dillard is leading the team with 26.7 ppg, and Courtney Wilkins is averaging 15.7 ppg.  Dillard was named the Preseason Big 4 Player of the Year and was a unanimous preseason first team selection.

This will be the first meeting between the squads.

Baylor is currently 4-0 on the season with a 65-59 victory over then-No. 23/RV Arizona State and a 94-49 win over Southern in its last two outings.  The squad has four players scoring in double figures as Kalani Brown averages 16.7 ppg and NaLyssa Smith is second with 14.5 ppg and a squad-best 8.0 rpg.
