Georgetown Falls to Middle Tennessee State

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's tennis squad lost on Saturday afternoon, 4-3, to Middle Tennessee State in Norfolk, Virginia. With the loss, the Hoyas fall to 1-9 on the season.

In singles, junior Risa Nakagawa (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif./Palos Verdes Peninsula) defeated Josefina Zehnder in the second and third sets, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. Junior Drew Spinosa (Claremont, Calif./Claremont/University of San Diego) dominated her match against Kim Kermet, 7-6, 7-6. Additionally, senior Daphne de Chatellus (Tiburon, Calif./Redwood) won against Zani Barnard, 6-4, 7-6.

MTSU earned the doubles point, winning all three of the matches in doubles against the Hoyas.

The Blue & Gray returns to action on Friday, March 23, to take on Rhode Island. The match is set for 11 a.m.
