Jacquelyn Eleey Repeats as BIG EAST Golfer of the Week

March 9, 2018

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University women's golf senior Jacquelyn Eleey (Quincy, Mass./The Taft School) has been named the BIG EAST Female Golfer of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Friday. The honor recognizes Eleey's performance at the Battle of Boulder Creek, held at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada, right outside of Las Vegas.

Eleey won her second individual title of the year, and fourth of her career, with a nine-over par 225. In tough, windy conditions, she carded an even-par 72 in Monday's first round, and followed that up with a 78 and 75 over the final 36 holes. She sat in second place going into Tuesday's final 18 holes, coming from behind to win by one stroke.

The Hoyas fired a 916 over the two-day, three-round tournament, cruising to a 27-stroke victory. The Blue & Gray fired a 301 in the first round and followed that up with a 303 in the second round. A 312 over Tuesday's final 18 holes sealed the victory. Eleey led four of GU's scoring players, and five overall, who finished in the top 10 individually.

The weekly honor is the second-consecutive for Eleey, and the fourth of the season and her career.

The Hoyas will travel to South Carolina next week, March 19-20, for the Briar's Creek Invitational.
