WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University sailing team finished seventh at the Navy Spring Regatta over the weekend, tallying 329 points. The Monarchs of Old Dominion nabbed the win with 216 points over the two-day regatta.

Navy Spring Regatta (April 14-15; Annapolis, Md.)
With sunny skies on Saturday, racing began with a southwesterly breeze in Annapolis Harbor. A quick shift after the first race saw a steady few races but the winds moved back southwest before becoming unpredictable for the remainder of the day. Sunday saw a much difference race day with winds at 10-20 knots.

With 18 races completed in both the A and B divisions, the Hoyas had a hard time getting steady in the streaky conditions. Early setbacks in the A division proved too much as the Blue & Gray finished 11th with 183 points. The B division was more consistently solid, recording five races among the top three including a pair of wins, but the Hoyas would finish eighth in the division with 146 points.

On April 21-22, the Hoyas will split sites and host the Arrigan Memorial Regatta on the Potomac River, while the women's team will compete at the MAISA Women's Championship in Norfolk, Virginia.
