Women's Tennis Falls Short to GW

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's tennis squad dropped a 4-3 decision to D.C. rival George Washington on Friday. The Hoyas fall to 3-11 with the loss while GW improves to 8-9 this season.

The Colonials won the double point by winning all three matches against GU.

In singles, senior Drew Spinosa (Claremont, Calif./Claremont/University of San Diego) knocked off Sara Grubac, 6-4, 6-4, at the No. 3 position. Senior Daphne de Chatellus (Tiburon, Calif./Redwood) came on top at No. 4 after a long battle against Julia Herlogsson, 6-7 (5), 7-6 (5), 10-6. Additionally, junior Sydney Goodson (Great Falls, Va./Langley High School) defeated Kamilla Beisenova at No. 6 position, 7-5, 6-3.

The Blue & Gray will return to action on Thursday, April 19 down the road at George Mason. The match is set for 3 p.m.
